SPECIFICATION   

A family grocery supermarket chain is looking for a Deli Manager with a suitable qualification or formal training coupled with experience in preparing meals ranging from curries, stews, salads, grills, pasta dishes and platters.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:

• Managing department inventory, in-stock position, pricing integrity, merchandising, and other operational processes of the Deli Department to company standards.
• Follow the Company sales and production planning standards and ensure that the deli department achieves the standards of performance outlined.
• Ensure all new department associates receive proper training and supervision.
• Kitchen safety techniques and health standards.
• Set daily and weekly cleaning schedules for the kitchen, hire, train and discipline employees and set work schedules.
• Keep tabs on food cost, waste and employee hours, doing their best to optimise profit.

REQUIREMENTS  

• Matric
• 5-7 Years’ experience working as a Deli Management Position
• Experienced in Home Replacement Meals
• Good customer service skills
• Attention to detail to keep track of various elements such as food standards, costs, safety, etc.
• Management Skills
• Organizational Skills, keeping work schedules, shipments, cleaning schedules .
• Problem-Solving Skills, dealing with employee conflict, irate customers and wrong stock orders
• Good communication skills
