An advertising agency based in Durban is looking for a Digital Account Executive to be responsible for relationship building and growth of sales with Clients, Key Business Executives and other Stakeholders.  This includes but not limited to, identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining new and existing business relationships and, preparing reports to ensure the client and the company needs are met or exceeded


Build Client/Stakeholder relationships to ensure the company value and brand is maintained at optimum levels and targets are achieved

  • Develop and maintain business relationships with Clients
  • Serve as a point of contact for all client account issues
  • Ensure professional etiquette and appearance when interacting with Clients
  • Develop and maintain a trusted advisor relationship with key account clients and Stakeholders that influence procurement decisions
  • Prepare briefings on the business, technical and financial benefits to develop customised solutions in collaboration with clients
  • Consult prospective, new, and existing Clients to promote the company’s image, products, and services
  • Negotiate the price of products and services with Clients to ensure the company remains competitive
  • Act as a Client’s champion to ensure that all departments understand Clients’ requirements, and provide quality products and services
  • Update Clients on their status of their products and services
  • Expedite solutions of Client queries or complaints by investigating problems; promptly implementing solutions; preparing reports and making recommendations to Management
  • Support Marketing Director when required

Provide sales support to ensure Clients and needs are met timeously and targets are achieved

  • Ensure that the product or service portfolio reflects Client’s expectations and changing needs as they arise
  • Manage jobs on the adBase system, including providing accurate briefs, deadlines, and Client feedback
  • Co-ordinate with staff to ensure Clients’ needs are met Source quotes from suppliers.
  • Prepare and send purchase orders
  • Invoices and regularly update Clients on progress

Conduct Project planning to ensure efficient flow of the business pipeline

  • Develops project plans to meet business needs of Clients
  • Set up meetings with Management, arrange presentations and supporting documentation to ensure that the Company achieves its position of preferred supplier
  • Identify information and resources required at key stages (initial inquiry, meeting a Client’s specification, preparing proposals, client evaluation and supplier selection)
  • Ensure products and services are delivered timeously and within prescribed budgets

Prepare sales analysis and reporting to minimise variances and improve performance

  • Clearly communicate monthly/quarterly progress of projects and activities, to internal and external Stakeholders
  • Develop plans to maximise business opportunities with each Client (e.g., revenue forecasts, resource requirements and, sales and marketing campaigns to meet agreed targets)
  • Complete month-end billings and prepare reports on account status, discrepancies and communicate recommendations
  • Utilise Client feedback to improve Company’s sales and services

Develop a process to attract, retain and sustain human capital to ensure best person-Company fit

  • Recruitment:
    • Assist to develop competencies profiles for the business
    • Attract and retain skilled staff in line with company policies and procedures
  • Training:
    • Plan, schedule and implement training sessions
    • Implement support strategy to ensure that transfer of learning has taken place.
  • Manage Performance:
    • Evaluate and manage staff performance in line with Company policies and procedures
    • Provide timeous feedback to management regarding performance of staff and take appropriate action to address non-performance
    • Provide timeous feedback to individuals on the performance and agree on way forward
    • Assist staff with career planning
  • Discipline:
    • Manage discipline and grievance aspects by maintaining consistency in abiding and following the Company’s Disciplinary Code for all direct reports and facilitate the same within the rest of the department

Perform General Administration to ensure smooth business operations

  • Update records and maintain files



  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role
