An education group is looking for a Sales Associate with experience in the education or training industry, a robust network and the interpersonal skills to sell the company’s products.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the sales team and will be a key contributor to the sales team's success. The role will primarily be in charge of scheduling and preparing the sales team for important meetings and events and will provide outstanding customer service by liaising between the sales team and the customer. This role is an integral part of ensuring the business continues to develop relevant, applicable and “thought leading” affordable products that align with target market needs, business growth and brand recognition.

The Sales Associate is responsible for generating new business clients - both educational institutions and students, of the various 4th industrial revolution STEAM products and training courses on offer.

This includes coordinating and managing all communication and liaison with the prospects and maintaining and growing the sales database, along with liaising and coordinating meetings in the CEO’s diary. The Sales Associate must demonstrate experience in having worked in primary, secondary or tertiary education, preferably as a teacher. The position requires the person to be self-motivated and have the capability to work independently. The ability to effectively communicate results to management in a fast-paced environment is essential.

As the first point of contact for all prospects, this role is vital to the success of the business and communication and presentation skills are extremely important.


Business development assistance

  • Identifying clients (students, schools, tertiary institutions and relevant drone industry stakeholders) to approach regarding the business’ products, including the STEAM offerings, corporate activations, team building products and commercial drone services.
  • Identifying and approach prospective clients and arrange meetings.
  • Drafting proposals:
    • Identifying the needs and requirements of prospective clients.
    • Drafting bespoke proposals.
    • Liaising and following up with prospective clients.
  • Working in the company’s CRM platform.

The role will be to develop, implement and drive the commercial sales plans that deliver the following:

  • Secure clients for training and drone flying courses; school courses and extra-curricular programmes sales; corporate and adult course and training sales.
  • Manage the company’s sales proposals and presentations and assist in the development of new sales materials.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Content Development Departments.
  • Identify relevant marketing and activation assets for packaging into sales materials.
  • Identify relevant opportunities that will drive the appeal of the business’ course curriculum and content for STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts & Maths) education in schools.
  • Identify relevant target companies, secure meetings and prepare and present tailored presentations.
  • Co-ordinate sales efforts with event promoters.
  • Streamline and develop best practice internal sales procedures including:
    • Proposal documents.
  • Compile and maintain the database of prospects across all industry sectors – Private sector, Government, Education etc.
  • Oversee the Customer Relationship Management platform, Pipedrive, across all clients.
  • Customer database and Business Development.
  • Manage own prospect’s Pipedrive allocation, correspondence, meetings, proposals, quotes, invoicing and collections.


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Customer-service oriented
  • Fully bilingual in English in Afrikaans – written and spoken.
  • Proven track record of successful sales experience (minimum 3 years).
  • Experience in the education industry – traditional and online.
  • Operational experience.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the jargon and terms used in the education industry.
  • Proficient computer literacy (all Microsoft Office products).
  • Prepared to work after hours and weekends within reason.
  • Must be interested in 4IR and disruptive technologies.
  • Must have own transport.
  • Brand fit.
