Minimum Requirements for The Role
• Matric
• Trade Test Red Seal Electrician.
• Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Valid driver's license
• Wireman’s License
• Minimum 3-5 years technical sales experience
The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For:
• Performing daily tasks scheduled which includes, installations and maintenance of company products.
• Cable pulling, dressing, and strapping
• Cable & Material Handling
• Stock taking
• Housekeeping
• Basic inspection of power tools and hand tools
• Glanding and termination
• Cable racking and support
• Basic wiring and crimping
• Undertaken are performed in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures
• Regular contact with senior technician to follow up progress of work and any general concerns
• Maintain the standards of all work in the field of a high quality and in accordance with approved work practices and standards required by regulatory requirements of SANS.
• Adhere to safety requirement
• Completing COC
• Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Supervise and train others in the installation and repair of electrical components.
• Install and repair electrical systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and conduct tests.
• Pinpoint problems using a range of testing devices. Design and mark – up drawings as appropriate (e.g., substation layouts, lighting, earthing etc.) to a suitable level of detail
• Comment on other discipline documents
• Produce MTO and bulk material requisitions and prepare technical bid evaluations
• Ensure design quality, technical content, and technical accuracy of electrical drawings on assigned projects
• Comments on supplier documents where applicable • Prepare installation contract bill of materials on assigned projects
• Input cable data into electrical database and issue cable schedule and / or termination
schedules
• Keep informed on the latest developments in CAD software and other packages relevant
to the electrical design discipline
• Understand the fundamentals and be able to operate the basic functions of a CAD
package
• Attend discipline specific and general training courses where required.
