SPECIFICATION

The successful candidate will have a strong electrical background and perform a wide range of Electrical installation, maintenance and other duties.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification and trade test
• Demonstrated competence in the inspection, testing and commissioning of installations 
• Practical, productive and electrical engineering skills to carry out electrical installation work without supervision
• Aircon maintenance experience
• Refrigeration maintenance experience
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Ability to problem solve creatively and think laterally
• Exceptional quality focus, organizational skills and attention to detail
