SPECIFICATION   

A fresh produce supplier based in Stellenbosch is looking for an Accountant to join their team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:

• Ensure all debtors are up to date daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Invoicing
  • Credit notes
  • Allocation of payments
  • Reconciliations
  • Following up on outstanding amounts
  • Sending out of Statements
• Checking of supplier balances with supplier statements
• Ensure cashbooks are up to date weekly and monthly.
• Check petty cash recon to supporting documentation monthly before the general manager is asked to sign it off.
• Ensure that all balance sheet accounts agree to supporting documentation and that a month end file is kept with the supporting documents.
• Ensure that all entries are entered for the month end before the 12th of the following month.
• Assist in completing the monthly management accounts by the 15th of the following month.

REQUIREMENTS  

• Degree in accounting
• Preferably completed articles, or even done 1 – 2 years of articles
• 1 – 2 years working experience in commerce/business in accounting
• Professional – able to interact with clients and suppliers
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
