A registered Financial Services provider is looking for a Life Broker in Johannesburg to be responsible for the development and performance of sales-based activities within the broker services business unit.

To assist and direct broker services team and provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. To consult with and develop relationships with clients

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Source new clients and service existing clients
  • Consult with and develop excellent relationships and service levels with clients and Assurors
    • Maintains excellent relationships with Insurance/Assurance providers and clients and other key persons involved with the client.
    • Maintain contact with all clients in the targeted market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
    • The level of client satisfaction and level of service is monitored at regular intervals to ensure that corrective action is taken as and when required
    • Ensures thorough understanding of client’s requirements and recommends appropriate changes in the client’s use of products and services in order to increase the benefits the client obtains from them and helps ensure client retention
    • Clients are influenced in their thinking so they will be willing to accept new products and services that are beneficial to them
    • Visits and services clients – individuals and companies in accordance with Broker’s standards of integrity and professionalism
    • Actively markets the company image at the client.
    • Maintains Client and Company Confidentiality
  • Develop/Source new clients and service existing clients:
    • Adheres to business plan and sales strategy for broker services that ensures attainment of company sales goals and maximum profitability
    • Provides input to budgeted targets
    • Measures and meets the agreed targets on a monthly basis (R100,000.00 paid over)
    • Prepares effective proposals and presentations
    • Creates and conducts proposals for clients in terms of their financial needs and objectives
    • Ensures that proposals are in line with company service levels and that proposals are done in a timeously and professional manner
    • Meets or exceeds all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments and closes 4-6 New clients (per month)
    • Compiles and updates weekly action plan (Pipeline)
    • Conducts a quarterly review of action plans implemented and new possible prospects
    • Prepares action plan for required search of sales leads and prospects (8-10 paid over cases)
    • Where client requirements are recognised as falling outside his own area passes the lead on to the appropriate colleague at the Brokers, i.e. Consultants.
    • Calls on leads provided, and appointments set up by Call Centre Agent
    • Visits client and obtains lead information
    • Admin Manager and Personal Assistant inputs information into Astute systems and a proposal is generated
    • Proposal is approved by Broker and Client is called on to discuss and consider proposal.
    • Conducts 2/3 annual visits to service client requirements, assess new events that may requirement amendments
    • With client visits ensures retention of client and strengthens relationship
    • Provides excellent service and attends to clients requirements promptly to retain existing clients
  • Reporting and Administrative Tasks
    • Maintains and develops a process of accurate record keeping
    • Ensures relevant information is kept confidential at all times
    • Ensures electronic data is effectively captured, stored and maintained
    • Provide timely and regular feedback to management regarding performance to ensure that the sales process is on track and targets are being met.
    • Produces and controls all sales administrative documentation and processes with assistance from the Personal Assistant
    • Provides reports on due dates
    • Provides schedule of clients and services when required
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
    • Ensures he is aware of the company’s core values and ethics and adheres to them.
  • Assisting clients with submitting Last Will and Testament
  • Assisting with updating client files for appointments booked
  • Assisting with cancellation requests received from client/insurance company.
  • Diarizing appointments.
  • Maintaining client data base for Life Department.
  • Informing clients of unsuccessful premiums and assisting the client with having the premium paid on their policies/investments.

 

REQUIREMENTS  

  • Grade 12 NQF level 4 plus RE5, as a minimum requirement
  • 3 years relevant Broker services/sales consulting experience at a senior level in Life Assurance Industry
  • Valid drivers license and own transport
  • Sales experience
  • Computer Literacy, including good working knowledge of Excel
  • Extensive Insurance Product/ Service knowledge & excellent knowledge of legal requirements in Insurance Industry
